Mae Bell Crabtree

August 3, 1931 — March 22, 2014

Mae Bell Crabtree, 82, of Muskogee, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 22, 2014 at her home. Mae was born on August 3, 1931 in Eufaula, Oklahoma the daughter of Anderson D. and Malinda (Green) Smith. She attended and graduated from the Booker T. Washington School in Eufaula in 1949. On February 16, 1953, Mae married James Cecil Crabtree, Sr. in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2000. She worked as a sheet metal fabricator for Beech Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas and retired after twenty plus years. She liked to read, cook and watch court TV. She loved to spend time with her grandkids and family. Mae was a member of Christ for the World Church in Muskogee. Survivors include: her sons, Malcolm Drone of Vallejo, California, James Crabtree Jr. of Lawton, OK and Cecil Crabtree of El Paso, Texas; her daughters, Flory McClain and husband Charles, Shelia Golden and husband Jack all of Wichita, Kansas and Marlene Billings and husband Josh of Muskogee; her sister, Patricia Lacey and husband Raymond of Oklahoma City; sixteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughters, Marcia Crabtree, Margaret Nichols, and Teresa Crabtree, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
