Lonnie Alexander Hartline

Lonnie Alexander Hartline, 76, passed away Monday, July 11, 2022 in Oklahoma City, OK. Lonnie was born on September 21, 1945 to Lonnie Alexander Sr and Shirley Patricia (Green) Hartline in Seattle, WA. He graduated from high school in Hennessey, OK in 1963 and then attended Central State University where he met his bride-to-be. He married Sherry Kae Pearce on October 4, 1968, at the Meadowood Baptist Church in Midwest City. Lonnie was drafted into the military service as an infantryman in the 1st Cavalry, U. S. Army. He served in Vietnam where he received two Purple Hearts among several awards for meritorious service. After the service, Lonnie continued his education and graduated in 1974 with a BA in Management and Marketing. He and his wife raised their family in Oklahoma City, moved to Eufaula early in 2001 and joined the membership of Lindsey Chapel Baptist Church. Lonnie accepted Christ as his Savior on Christmas Eve 2017. Lonnie was an avid hunter and fisherman. He placed and won several Crappiethon tournaments and enjoyed many fishing trips to Alaska. He traveled with his family to many parts of the country, Hawaii and Europe. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, especially riding four-wheelers with his granddaughter. At a young age, Lonnie found his first arrowhead which sparked his interest in collecting Indian relics and artifacts. He was a charter member and founder of the Oklahoma Chapter of the Central States Archaeology Society. He served as Secretary-Treasurer since its inception in 2008. Lonnie amassed a quality collection that was recognized with numerous awards by his fellow hobbyists, including a special “Living Legacy Award” in 2021. Lonnie is survived by his wife Sherry of the home; daughter, Lori Christine Hartline and fiancé Jeff Bush of Checotah; sons, Rodney James Hartline of the home, and David Hartline of Indiana; sister, Shannon Hartline-Hester of Many, LA; granddaughter, Sydney Fallon Hartline and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Karen Hartline-Coburn.
