Lloyd Batzell Morris

May 5, 1919 — January 12, 2017

Lloyd was born on May 5, 1919 in Haworth, Oklahoma to Gilbert Arran and Deedia Mae (Blakenship) Morris. In 1936, he graduated from Chilocco Indian Agricultural School. In 1941, Lloyd married Penny Vaughan in Lawton, Oklahoma. They were married for six years and had two children: Lloyd Lee Morris and infant son that passed, Billy Morris. He enlisted in the United States Army on November 16, 1942 and was honorably discharged on October 6, 1945, serving during WWII, the attack on Pearl Harbor, and The Battle of The Bulge. While serving in the Army, Lloyd received the EAME Service Ribbon, American Defense Service Ribbon, and a Silver Star. He then worked as a postal carrier for ten years. On March 10, 1947, Lloyd married Margie Morris and had two children: Deedia and Phillip. Margie preceded him in death on November 20, 1994. He was a member of the Eufaula Church of Christ. Lloyd welcomed everyone into his home. He helped raise Beverly Hartman. All the neighbors loved him. Survivors include: sons: Lloyd Lee Morris, of Eufaula, OK; Phillip Morris and wife, Diane, of McAlester, OK; Donald Smith and wife, Helen, of California; Mario "Porky" Falcom, of Locust Grove, OK; daughter, Deedia Francis, of Eufaula, OK; sixteen grandchildren; and forty-one great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Gilbert Morris and Glenn Morris.
