Lester Leon Rose

Lester Leon Rose, 89, of Eufaula, passed away on August 2, 2020 at the Eufaula Manor Nursing Home. Leon was born on December 5, 1930 in Fame, Oklahoma to Richard and Rosie P (Middleton) Rose. He attended school at Fame. Leon lived in Friona, Texas and worked on a ranch for nine years. He moved back to Eufaula where he worked for the City of Eufaula and then operated a Texaco Gas Station on I40 & 69 HWY for seven years. Leon was married to Virginia Francis Strome for thirty-eight years, before she preceded him in death on July 23, 2010. Leon worked as a farmer for the rest of his life. He was a member of the Mission Outreach Full Gospel Church in Checotah. Leon enjoyed working on the farm and gardening. He liked to hunt and fish. Leon loved attending church and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include: his son, Roddy Rose and wife, Julie, of Checotah; daughter, Debbie Lane and husband, Walter, of Checotah; and two grandchildren: Rachel Rose, of Norman; and Katelyn Rose, of Checotah. He is preceded by his parents; wife, Virginia; brothers: Hershel, Audrey, James, and Sammie; and sisters: Floy, Marie, Lois, and Colleen.
