Leroy Burlston Collums, 94, of Tuttle, former longtime resident of Stidham, passed away on March 20, 2023 at the Tuttle Care Center. Leroy was born on July 14, 1928 in Bennington, Oklahoma to Travis Burlston Collums and Rosa Mae Lucas. He served in the United States Army from October 18, 1950 before being honorably discharged on September 21, 1956. A self proclaimed “Old Oilfield Tramp” Leroy worked in the oilfield trucking and pipeline industries in North America, South America, Africa and the Middle East. Upon retirement he settled in Stidham OK to fish, raise cattle and tell stories.
Survivors include: son, Bobby Collums and spouse Charlie, of Enid, OK; daughter, Linda Anderton and spouse Bruce, of Grand Lake, LA; daughter in-law, Nina Collums, of Dover, OK; step daughter Donna Santiny of Larose, LA; sister, Janet Reed, of Texas; grandchildren: Robby, Danny, Donny, Tammy, Brian, Diana, Jason and Brian; twenty-six great grandchildren; and numerous great great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Geraldine; son, Donnie Collums; daughter in-law, Darlene Collums; son in-law David Blanchard; granddaughter Jeri Blanchard: brothers: Clinton, Clayton “Jeep”, and Jimmy; and sisters: Nathelda Sue Johnson and LaDella Jean Hackler.
