Leonard Jay Luna

Leonard Jay Luna, 58, of Eufaula, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020, at the McAlester Regional Hospital. Leonard was born on May 18, 1961, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of L.J. and Helen Lavada (Welch) Luna. He graduated from Canadian High School in 1979. On April 14, 1979, Leonard married Marilyn Kay Rule in Canadian, Oklahoma. They were happily married for forty years. Leonard worked as a custodian and bus driver for Eufaula Public Schools for 32 years. He retired and then went back to work part time for a total of forty plus years. Leonard also retired from the Eufaula Fire Department after twenty years of service. He attended the First Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family. Survivors include: his wife, Marilyn Kay Luna, of the home; his daughter, Erica Luna and fiance Bill Bevenue; his son, Joshua Luna and wife Megan; his daughter, Krystina Luna and fiance Brandon Starr; and a bonus son, Jamon Mortensen; four grandchildren, Carson Luna, Olivia Luna, Ryker Luna, and Brynlee Kay Luna; his siblings: Virginia Newby and husband Roland, Donna Maynard and husband Mike, Patricia Rhodes and husband Gary, Janett Anderson and husband Mike, Catherine Eldridge and husband Donald, Pamella Bice, Jerry Luna, Jane Luna, Carl Luna, Deanna Shaffer, Karol York, and Tim Luna; and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, L.J. and Helen Luna; his brothers, Thomas Crumbley, Ralph Crumbley, Raymond Luna and Jimmy Luna; sisters, Carolyn Jones, Judy Upson, Brenda Luna, and Caroline Adams.
