Lefa Mae Wohlfert

Lefa Mae Wohlfert, 88, of Eufaula passed away Friday, August 10, 2012 at her home. Lefa was born on November 24, 1923, in Beloit, Wisconsin, the daughter of Albert C. and Deane Mary (Wheelock) Van Dyke. On June 26, 1944, Lefa married Henry Frank Wohlfert at the Atonement Lutheran Church in Beloit, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on April 26, 2006. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Beloit Country Club and later as an advertiser for the Daily News. Lefa spent her summers in Wisconsin and her winters in California. She loved to bowl. Survivors include her daughters, Deanna L. Sebastian and husband Fredrick of Eufaula, Vicki K. Van Schaik and husband John Robert of Rockford, Illinois and Linda L. Christiansen and husband Steven of Beloit, Wisconsin, eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Lefa is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Michael H. Wohlfert on April 24, 1981 and two sisters, Alberta Wheelock and Baby Wheelock. A memorial service for Lefa will be held at a later date in Beloit, Wisconsin.
