Lee Wayne Riley, 65, of Eufaula passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at the Walnut Grove Nursing Home in McAlester. Lee was born on December 27, 1948, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma the son of Melvin Vester and Phyllis Jean (McIntosh) Riley. Lee graduated from high school and entered into the United States Army. During his service, Lee earned several awards and medals including the Meritorious Service Medal w/Third Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Commendation Medal w/Second Oak Leaf Cluster, the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal-KOREA, the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon w/Numeral One, the Army Good Conduct Medal -5 and the Expert Rifle Award. He retired as a First Sergeant. On November 2, 1968, Lee married Gloria Edwards in Ft. Knox, Kentucky. They were happily married for 45 years. After the military, Lee worked as a business manager for Pat"s Liquor Store in Eufaula. Survivors include: his daughters, Wendy Knight and Mike Franklin of McAlester and Amber Smith of Taft; his brothers, Kendal Riley and wife Bonnie of Oklahoma City, Jim Riley and wife Brenda of Alma, Arkansas and Rick Riley of Eufaula; four grandchildren, Cierra Mae Knight, Lewayne Travis Riley, Timothy David Smith and Teri Dawn Smith and one great granddaughter, Sophia Riley.
