Larry Dee Whitney

Larry Dee Whitney, age 70, of Wilburton, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away on January 30, 2025. Born on June 11, 1954, in Los Angeles, California, he was the beloved son of Ulan Kennon and Lela Marland (Brisco) Whitney. Larry proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was of the Assembly of God faith. Larry graduated in 1975 from Booneville, AR.   

He leaves behind a loving family which includes his sons, Larry Ulan Whitney of Talihina and Floyd Thomas Whitney, along with his wife Madison, of McAlester. He is also survived by his daughters, Paula Marland Whitney of Talihina and Julia Evelyn Whitney of McAlester. Larry cherished his siblings, including brothers Floyd Whitney of Harrah and John Whitney of Llano, Texas, as well as his sister Janet Hoyt and her husband Deryl of San Saba, Texas. Additionally, he adored his grandchildren: Logan, Iris, Cedric, Luna, Nathan, Jayden, Jade, Lillian, Benjamin, and Nova.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Ulan and Lela Whitney.
