Larry Edward Griffin, 63, of Eufaula, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa. Larry was born on September 9, 1948, in Chandler, Oklahoma the son of Harry Edward and Marceline Marie (Place) Griffin. He graduated from Davenport High School in 1965 and attended college at the College of the Ozark and Rose State College. He enlisted in the United States Army on February 5, 1968 where he worked in Military Intelligence receiving the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal w/4 Bronze Service Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Meritorious Unit Commendation. He was honorably discharged on January 12, 1971. In 1970, Larry married Brenda Clemmons. They were married for over twenty-nine years. Larry worked as a farmer for thirty years. He also worked at a unit rig for fifteen plus years. Survivors include: his sons, James Eric Griffin and wife Micheko of Japan, Larry Griffin and wife Jeana of Oklahoma City and Brad Griffin of Moore; his daughter, Marcy Royal and husband Brian of Norman; his grandchildren, Chelsea, Brady, Elli, Noah, Brookelin, Gabe, Bentley, Brianna and Brendon; his mother, Marceline Griffin of Chandler and his brother, Gary Griffin and wife Marcella of Eufaula. He is preceded in death by his father and two grandchildren, Brett and Brice.
