Larry Alan Dacus

Larry Alan Dacus, 77, of Eufaula, passed away on June 2, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Larry was born on February 5, 1947, in Wichita, Kansas to Dan Hames and Thelma Irene (Simmonds) Dacus. He graduated as valedictorian from Henryetta High School. Larry received his Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Oklahoma. On March 17, 1979, he married Laurie Elizabeth Reames at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas. Larry worked as a computer programmer in Dallas for over thirty years and retired in 2002. Larry and Laurie then retired to Lake Eufaula, the place where they honeymooned and an area of the state that was special to them both. He was an active member of the Lindsey Chapel Baptist Church. Larry was an avid OU Sooners fan and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his sons: Daniel James Dacus, of Portland, OR; Stephen Michael Dacus and wife Leslie, of Fayetteville, AR; and William Joseph Dacus and wife Katie, of Midland, TX; grandchildren: Elle Dacus, Audrey Dacus, Olivia Dacus, Bennett Dacus, and Mica Dacus; and sister, Kathy Safreed. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Laurie Dacus; and son, Jeffrey Alan Dacus in 2014.
