Kenneth Dale Wenrich

August 1, 1936 — July 23, 2011

Kenneth Dale Wenrich, 74, of Eufaula passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the Grace Living Center in Muskogee. Kenneth was born on August 1, 1936, in Bloomington, Indiana, the son of James Edward and Mary Ellen (Neal) Wenrich. He enlisted in the United States Army on August 5, 1961 in Los Angeles, California. While in the service, Kenneth received the CIB, the AFCM, the ARCHT Badge, and EXPERT on Pistol and a MARKSMAN on Carbine and Rifle awards. He was honorably discharged on November 15, 1963. On April 7, 1979, Kenneth married Diana V. Montoya in Ventura, California. Kenneth worked in law enforcement as a deputy policeman in California for over thirty years. He retired from the food industry in California. After retirement, Kenneth and Diana moved to Eufaula where he worked as a butcher for Nichols Grocery for over five years. Kenneth then owned and operated The Landing Café for fourteen years. He was a member of the Eufaula VFW Post 8798 and a member of the Eufaula Masonic Lodge #1. Survivors include: his wife, Diana, of the home; his sons, Eric and wife Jessica Wenrich of California, John Wenrich of Norman and Robert Wenrich also of Norman; his daughter, Kendra Wenrich and husband Rudy Doppler of Norman; his brothers, Russel Wenrich and wife Lee of Costa Rica and Keith Wenrich of Fairmont, West Virginia; his sister, Sue Lynn Smallwood of Florida; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Virgil and a son Karl. The family would like to thank everyone for the cards, food and phone calls in their time of need. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Shriner’s Hospital.
