Katie Wood

Katie Mae Wood, 77, of Checotah, passed away on March 13, 2023 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Katie was born on November 22, 1946 in Stidham, Oklahoma to Charlie and Lillie Mae (Earl) Fowler. She was the baby of seventeen children. On July 5, 1963, Katie married Doyle Wood. They were happily married for fifty-five years before he preceded her in death on April 23, 2019.

Survivors include: sons: Markey Wood and spouse Lynn, of Muskogee; Randy Wood, of Checotah; and Buddy Wood, of Westville; daughters: Tammy Hughes and spouse John, of Muskogee; Misty Wood, of Checotah; and Sherri Wood, of Muskogee; brother, Sam Fowler and spouse Patsy, of Council Hill; sister, Betty Fowler, of Eufaula; nineteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Lillie Fowler; husband, Doyle Wood; numerous brothers and sisters; and one grandson, Dustin Wood.
