Karen Jean Pylant

On Thursday, January 13, 2022, Jean Pylant, passed away at age 79. Jean was born on November 13,1942 in Fort Sill, Lawton, Oklahoma to Elza Mae and William Edgar Rogers(Bill). On April 13,1963, she married Arthur Boyd Pylant. Jean had a passion for people. She and her husband raised their children in Texas. She worked keeping the house and taking care of Arthur and the children. She graduated from nursing school in 1975 and worked at the hospital in Waxahachie, Texas as an LPN on the floor for several years then transferred to work in medical records for twenty-five years leaving in 1994. After retiring from the hospital, they moved to Canadian, Oklahoma. She worked a few years for AAA Home Health and later the Canadian Public Schools where she worked as a substitute teacher. She loved to enjoy the beautiful scenery and deer from her front porch. She enjoyed telling stories. She loved being with her family most importantly with her grandchildren. She loved spoiling them. She was known for her infectious smile, and her kind and compassionate spirit. She loved the Lord and shared Him with others. One of her favorite things to do was fill the whole pew with guests at her local Church of Christ where she was a member. Jean was preceded in death by her mother Elza Mae Stephens Rogers and her Father William Edgar (Bill) Rogers. As well as her Husband Arthur Boyd Pylant. She is survived by her two sisters Sherry Gaines of Andrews, Texas, Sandra Smithey of Shawnee, Oklahoma and her Brother Bill Rogers and his wife Pam of Canadian, Oklahoma. Her children Thomas Edgar Pylant (Eddie) and wife Rachelle Pylant of Waxahachie, Texas, Julie Sibley and husband Jim Sibley of Red Oak, Texas. Cheryl Baker of Canadian, Oklahoma. As well as her 15 grandchildren, her many great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
