Kanda Laneece King, 57, of Holdenville, passed away on May 19, 2018 in Eufaula, Oklahoma. Kanda was born on May 11, 1961 in Corinth, Mississippi to James S. and Kaydell (Mauney) Nelms. She married Tony Gene King on July 17, 1996 in Independence, Missouri. They were happily married for twenty-one years. Kanda previously worked at Save A Lot and O'Reilly's. She worked as a home health care aide for the past five years. She enjoyed collecting cook books, collecting Fenton Milk Hobnail Glass, and arts and crafts. Kanda was a member of the Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Holdenville. She loved her husband and helped him with his health issues. Survivors include: her husband, Tony, of the home; grandmother, Dorothy Byers, of Holdenville, OK; grandparents, Mirt and Tommie Lee Mason, of Eufaula, OK; sisters: Tonya K. Kyser and husband, John, of Olean, NY; and Angel Ladd, of Holdenville, OK; and a host of great nieces and nephews that she loved very much. She is preceded in death by her parents, James S. Nelms and Kaydell Mauney.
