Judy Wren, 62, of Checotah, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014. Judy was born on August 18, 1952, in Corinth, Mississippi the daughter of Howard Grady McLain and Annie Louise (Cooper) Morton. She graduated from Tulsa Central High School. She worked at her family"s diner, The Denver Grill, and also City Services in Tulsa. On April 8, 1978, Judy married Jerry Wren in Verdigris, Oklahoma. After she married, she and Jerry moved to Stigler where she was employed at Ben Franklins and then Wal-Mart for 16 years. In 1997, she opened her restaurant, Judy"s Grill; she operated it for over 10 years before retiring. She loved to cook and host family dinners. She was an avid football fan and you could often hear her coaching from her recliner. She was a devoted wife, sister, mother and grandmother – the matriarch of a family that will miss her so much. Survivors include: her husband, Jerry, of the home; her son, Mike Buntin and wife Misty of Stigler, granddaughters, Layla and Lana; her daughter, Stacey Blanchett and husband Jerrod of Henryetta, granddaughters, Mycah, Niki and Saylor; her daughter, Mistie Patrick and husband Chris of Claremore, her grandsons, Larry, Aaron and her granddaughters, Kayla and Kelsey; her brother, Rick Morton of Eufaula; her sisters, Carolyn Conners of Broken Arrow, Shelia Gilliland of Tulsa and Nancy McLain of Tulsa. She is preceded in death by her mother, Louise Morton, her father, Howard McLain, one sister, Peggy Jones and two brothers, Terry McLain and Doug McLain.
