Juanita was born on December 14, 1931, in Shawnee, Oklahoma the daughter of Clarence and Nova Vaughn. She attended Henryetta High School. On July 30, 1949, she married John Robert "Bob" Bales in Schulter, Oklahoma. They were happily married for 66 years. Following their marriage, Bob and Nita made their home in Pleasant Valley, Oklahoma. After their retirement in 1988, they relocated to Checotah, Oklahoma and began living their dream of building a log home by hand. Nita was at her happiest spending time with her family at her lake home. She was a member of the Lindsey Chapel Baptist Church. Survivors include: her husband, Bob, of the home; sons, James Robert Bales of Grove, Danny Duane Bales and wife Kathryn of Broken Arrow, Phillip Wayne Bales and wife Terry of Inola and Stanley E. Bales of Arlington, TX; daughter, Cheryl Ann Howard and husband Douglas of Broken Arrow; brothers, Earl Vaughn and wife Sue of Henryetta, Don Vaughn and wife Wynona of Henryetta; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Nova Vaughn, her brother, Jack Vaughn and two grandchildren, Stacy Bales and Shanna Howard.
