Joyce Irene Walters

Joyce Irene (Hammonds) Walters, 80, of Eufaula, passed away on July 20, 2016. Our precious beautiful Joyce left this life on July 20, 2016 to begin an eternal life with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in her daughter"s arms in Inola, Oklahoma as she requested. Joyce was born on May 18, 1936 in Braggs, Oklahoma to Varl and Eva Mae (Isbell) Hammonds. She graduated from Bacone College with a Master"s Degree in Nursing. Joyce worked as a registered nurse. She married David Walters in Woodward Park, Tulsa. They were happily married for over twenty-six years, before he preceded her in death on February 17, 2015. Joyce was a member of the St. Paul"s Catholic Church in Eufaula, Oklahoma. She lived her life for her family as well as caring for others in her nursing career. Joyce was beautiful inside and out. Her smile would steal your heart and her hugs were filled with compassion and love. Joyce will forever be missed by those who loved her. Survivors include: her daughter, Judy Kriss and husband, Rick, of Inola, OK; brother, Coy Hammonds and wife, Joice, of Kellyville, OK; grandson, Mitchell Kriss and wife, Cookie; granddaughter, Jennifer Hargoves and husband Mark; great granddaughter, Nicole; great grandsons: Aaron and Connor; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, David Walters; brothers: James, Delton, Terry, and Gary Hammonds; sisters: Eva Walker, Brenda Weathers, Elaine Hammonds, and Rita Hammonds.
