Josephine Francis

Josephine Francis, 71, of Eufaula, passed away Friday, March 6, 2020, at the St. Francis Hospital of Muskogee. Josephine was born on August 10, 1948, in Porum, Oklahoma the daughter of Joseph Ashes and Pauline Ashes Walker. She graduated from Chilocco Indian School in 1966. On October 26, 1973, Josephine married David Dean Francis in Muskogee. They were happily married for forty-seven years. She worked as a seamstress until 1995. She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include: her husband, David, of the home; her son, Fred Francis and wife Malissa of Eufaula, OK; daughters, Rhonda Oliveira & husband Antonio of Dallas, TX and Aurelia "AJ" Francis of Eufaula, OK; sisters, Margaret Ashes of Porum, Leona Wildcat and husband Luman of Porum and Joncie Birdtail and husband Henry also of Porum; eight grandchildren, Sami Jo Cannon and husband Bradley, Ethan Winkle, Asah Francis, Michael Bailey, Brandon Bailey Haizea Oliveira, Hailey Ellis and Rachelle Thomas and four great grandchildren, Brighton Bailey, T.J. Wisman, Jace Wisman and Addison Bailey. She is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Joseph in 1996, a sister, Irene Estep and a brother, Ernest Ashes.
