Jonita Anne Willis Duell

JoNita Anne Willis Duell, 64, of Eufaula, passed away Friday, July 24, 2020, at her home. JoNita was born on December 10, 1955, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, the daughter of Richard "Dick" Thomas and Wilma Doris (Stewart) Willis. She graduated from Eufaula High School in 1974. She then attended Connors State College and received her Bachelor's degree from NSU in 1978. On February 16, 1985, JoNita married Stephen Duell at the Episcopal Church in Muskogee. They were happily married for thirty-five years. JoNita worked as a laboratory medical tech at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Hospital as a hemoglobin specialist. She retired in 2005. She loved playing bunko, being in the outdoors and was a good cook. She is survived by her husband, Stephen, of the home; her son, Jeremy Joseph Burns of Eufaula; her daughter, Amy Harrison and husband Josh of Eufaula; her sister, Nancy Mouser and husband George of Eufaula; six grandchildren, Trent Brown, Alexeya Burns, Gage Burns, Colby Burns, Anthony Harrison and Logan Burns and two great grandchildren, Sadie and Theo Bridges. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents a sister, Deana Louise Willis and a granddaughter, Sierra Burns.
