Joleta Faye Taylor

Joleta Faye Taylor, 79, of Crowder, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at the Eufaula Manor Nursing Home. Joleta was born on November 27, 1938 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Joseph Frank and Margaret Gwendolyn (Johnson) Nedbalek. She graduated from Putnam City High School. In 1960, Joleta married Walter Randolph Droze. They were married for eleven years. She worked as a secretary for the State of Oklahoma and later in the law office of Gene Stipe. In 1986, Joleta married Lewis Butler Taylor. They were married for twenty-eight years, before he preceded her in death on October 12, 2014. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Past Worthy Matron in Oklahoma City. Joleta was also a member of the Order of Rainbow for Girls and the Poet Society of Oklahoma. Survivors include: daughters: Kerry Lynne Sloan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Wendy Rene Sledd and husband, Keith, of Gatesville, Texas; sisters: Margaret Arleen Cavanaugh, of Indianola, Oklahoma; and Kathryn Diane Guinn and husband, Roger, of Eufaula, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Lauren Cloud of Moore, Oklahoma; Samantha Sloan of McAlester, Oklahoma; and Jennifer Cardon of Phenix City, Alabama; and three great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Karen Kaye Kime on May 25,1997 and son, Joseph Randolph Droze on January 9, 2013. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at the Kelley Memorial Chapel with Reverend Mike Brannon officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in McAlester, Oklahoma under the direction of Hunn Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory.
