John Mock, 68, of Eufaula, passed away on May 8, 2017 at his home. John was born on June 26th, 1948 in Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania to Earl Edward and Elda F. Mock. He attended Central High School in Martinsburg, PA and graduated in June 1966. He enlisted in the United States Navy. John took several classes during his service. After two tours of service in Vietnam, he was stationed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Annapolis, Maryland; Norfolk, Virginia; and Sardina, Italy. As an expert marksman, he became a firearms instructor at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. John retired after working 20 years at Three Mile Island Nuclear Generating Plant, Unit #1, as Manager of Maintenance Planning and Scheduling. John was an avid golfer. He played in his youth at the Ironmasters Country Club in Roaring Springs, Pennsylvania. After retirement, John became a member of the Fountainhead Golf Club in Eufaula, Oklahoma. He was also an avid gardener, outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and also woodworking in his shop in his basement. John is survived by: his mother, Elda F. Mock of Homewood Retirement Center, Martinsburg, PA; his wife, Donna Mock, of the home; his son, John D. Smith and wife Jen and their children, Alisha McCurdy and Emma Smith; his daughter, Aimee E. Mullen and husband Shannon and their children, Jeremie and Jason Bell; his stepdaugher, Kimberly MacPherson of Miami, FL; his brothers, Stephen E. Mock and wife Joan of Martinsburg, PA and Timothy Mock and wife Kate of Hopewell, PA; his sister, Sally A. McClelland of New Cumberland, PA; his mother in law, Bonnie Berry of Eufaula, OK; his aunt in law, Eva Pittman of Eufaula, OK; his brother in law, Willard Berry and wife Yvonne and their adult children, David,Holly, Heather, Heidi, Michael and Joshua. He is also survived by 3 great-grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Earl E. Mock. Cremation arrangements were made with Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the Eufaula High School Golf Team.
