John Steven Thrasher

John Steven (Steve) Thrasher, 82, passed away Wednesday, July 20th, 2022, in Muskogee, OK. He was born on August 2nd, 1939, to John and Veronica (Badaracco) Thrasher in Chicago, Illinois. Steve graduated high school in Decatur, IL. He married Carol Adele Hilterbrand on September 1, 1973, and the two were married for forty-eight years before his passing. Steve served in the U.S. Marine Corps for fourteen years, then served in the U.S. Navy until 1988. He protected his country by serving in the Vietnam War. Steve worked as an aircraft technician for over thirty-five years. He then went on to work as a contractor at Lockheed until retiring in 2002. Steve was a volunteer at the #9 and Canadian Fire Departments. Steve is survived by his wife Carol Thrasher of the home; sons, Craig Thrasher of Texas and Darren Thrasher and wife Lani of California; brothers, Kenneth Thrasher and wife Sherry of Virginia and Phillip Thrasher and wife Jan of Montana; sisters, Ann Green and husband Doyle of California, Kim Leon of Illinois, and Peggy Manning and husband Bob of Illinois; five grandchildren: Emily Thrasher, Aaron Thrasher, Matthew Thrasher, Trisha Thrasher and Cole Thrasher. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Veronica.
