John Shaver

April 20, 1934 — January 13, 2012

Little John (Brother) Shaver, 77, of Eufaula passed away Friday, January 13, 2012 at his home. John was born on April 20, 1934, in McIntosh County, Oklahoma the son of John and Ella Mae (Austin) Shaver. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. After graduation, John attended Okmulgee Tech in Auto Mechanics. John married Bessie Lee West. They were happily married for over fifty years. John worked as a farmer/rancher for most of his life. When he wasn’t working the farm, John worked as a chef at Arrowhead and a plumber at the Army Ammunition Plant. He also worked at the International Harvest Company in Eufaula as a machinist. He was a member of the Sulpher Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include: his son, Earl D. Shaver and wife Eliza of Claremore; his daughters, Althea Shaver and Carlene M. Shaver, his step-daughters, Betty V. Jackson and husband William and Mary L. Warrior all of Eufaula, nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Bessie, his parents, one step son, Arthur Lee and one grandchild, his brothers, Red Shaver, Will Shaver, P.C. Shaver, Walter Milner, H.O. Milner and Leon Milner and his sisters, Willa Mae, Ella Mae, Marie, Johny Mae and Lou Ella.
