John Robert "Bob" Bales

John Robert "Bob" Bales, 92, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, formerly of Checotah, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2021, at the Hillcrest Hospital South. Bob was born on December 12, 1928, in Pleasant Valley, Oklahoma, the son of John Carmel and Ivy Alice (Davidson) Bales. He graduated from Schulter High School. On July 30, 1949, Bob married Juanita "Nita" Vaughn. They were happily married for sixty-six years. They made their home in Pleasant Valley where Bob worked as a radiator mechanic. After retirement in 1988, Bob and Nita moved to Checotah, Oklahoma, and began living their dream of building a log home by hand. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of the Lindsey Chapel Baptist Church.
