John Raymond Wegner

John Wegner, 79, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at the McAlester Regional Hospital. John was born on November 21, 1940, in South Bend, Indiana, the son of Dorothy Faye Rose. John attended school in New York City. He served in the United States Air Force as a firefighter for four years. In 1959, John married Lawanda Woodard. They were happily married for 61 years. John was a manager at Evans Furniture for many years. He later owned and operated Pixie Woods Liquidator Furniture for ten years. He served as a volunteer firefighter for the #9 Volunteer Fire Department for fifteen years. He enjoyed boat riding, being on the lake, motorcycling, and traveling to every state park. He is survived by his wife, Lawanda, of the home; his son, Jeff Wegner of Eufaula; his daughter, Sherry Loftin and husband Eldon of Longtown; his grandchildren, Ashley Wegner, Shane Wegner, Austin Wegner and Crystal Simon; and his great grandchildren, Gavin and Gage Womack, Tripp, Kay Kay, Alex, River and Abel Danes. He is preceded in death by his parents.
