John Patrick Baxter

John was born on December 1, 1963, in Oklahoma City, the son of Jimmy Clarence Baxter and Wanda Louise (Cravens) Bailey. He graduated from Harrah High School in 1981. In 1984, John married Paula Smith-Moats. He later married Jill Roberts on February 15, 1991, in OKC. John worked as a truck driver for 32 years. He also was a home builder and an entrepreneur. John enjoyed watching western movies. He loved Jesus, attending church at the Light House Christian Center and spending time with his family. He never met a stranger. Survivors include: his wife, Jill, of the home; his mother, Wanda Bailey & husband Roger of Onapa; his daughters Selena Baxter of Killeen, Texas, Kimberly Ward & husband Josh of OKC & Britni Baxter of Ada; his brothers, Jim Baxter & wife Laurie of Midwest City, Justin Baxter & wife Terri of Little, Axe, Tom Baxter & wife Brenda of Crowder and Clint Covington & Mary Bennett of Smithville; sister, Kristi Baker & husband, Scott Freiermuth of Leawood, KS; one grandchild, Jackson and a host of nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by his father, Jim in 2002.
