John was born on August 17, 1924 in Longville, LA to William John and Pearl (Ramsey) Ware. His family moved to Oklahoma when he was six years old. He attended school in Minco, Oklahoma. John married Mary Grigsby on January 30, 1943 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They were happily married for over seventy-two years. He served in the United States Army as a PFC during WWII from April 23, 1943 to February 17, 1946. John also served in the United States Air Force as a CPL Aircraft Mechanic during the Korean War from November 17, 1950 to November 16, 1951. He served active duty and reserve duty for a total of 8 ½ years. John worked as a Quality Control Aircraft Inspector for Tinker Air Force in Midwest City for over thirty-five years. He retired from Tinker in 1974. John was a member of the Eufaula American Legion. He enjoyed traveling to south Texas during the winter months to fish for thirty-seven years. Survivors include: his wife, Mary of the home; son, Don Ware and wife, Paula, of Wasilla, AK; daughter, Karen Rogers and husband, Tom, of Longtown, OK; brothers: William Ware, of Oklahoma City, OK; Clifford Martin and wife, Maryla, of Yukon, OK; Marshall Martin and wife, Susan, of Foster, OK; Noel Martin, of Stratford, OK; Charles Martin and wife, Diane, of Choctaw, OK; sister in-laws: Loretta Martin, of Cement, OK and Sue Martin, of Rush Springs, OK; five grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. He is preceded in death by five brothers; one sister; and one great great grandson, Mason Dunn.
