John David Craig

John David Craig, 85, of Eufaula, passed away on September 29, 2023 at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Center in Muskogee, Oklahoma. John was born on June 8, 1938 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Benjamin Paul and Mary Alice (Huff) Craig. He graduated from Atoka High School in 1956. John served in the United States Air Force from September 23, 1957 until his retirement on August 31, 1981. John married Masaka in 1963. They were married for twenty-six years and raised three boys together until she preceded him in death in 1989. He was later married to Nadine for twenty years until her passing in 2011. While serving, he received many awards including the Air Medal with 4 devices, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 5 devices, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon with 4 devices, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 devices, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Meritorious Service Medal. John was a life member of the Eufaula VFW Post 8798, DAV, and a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed watching westerns and spending time with his friends at the VFW.

Survivors include: his sons: Paul Craig, Eddie Craig, and Gary Craig, all of California; sisters: Ruth Haste, of Checotah, OK; and Margaret Caskey, of Bryan, TX; three granddaughters; one great granddaughter, and two great grandsons. He is preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Mary Craig; brother, Bill Craig; sister, Evelyn Craig, and one infant son, Richard Craig.
