John William "Bud" Fowler, 79, of Muskogee passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 at his home. Bud was born on February 1, 1935, in Stidham, Oklahoma the son of Charlie and Lillie May (Earls) Fowler. He attended Stidham Public Schools. On November 1, 1952, Bud married Mary Christene Flud in Hammond, Indiana. They were happily married for sixty-two years. Christene preceded him in death on February 6, 2014. Bud worked as a heavy equipment operator until he was fifty years old. He later worked in the auto glass industry for thirteen years in Muskogee. Bud enjoyed riding horses and fighting chickens but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was a member of the Ash Street Baptist Church. Survivors include: his sons, Clinton Fowler and wife Tura of Muskogee and Johnny Fowler of Muskogee; his daughters, Judy Burns and husband Steve of Mellette and Karen Fry and husband Benny of Muskogee; his brother, Sam Fowler of Council Hill his sisters, Betty Fowler of Eufaula and Katie Woods of Checotah; eleven grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, Darrell Fowler in 2001 and twelve brothers and sisters.
