JL Moody, 76, of Oklahoma City, passed away October 25, 2019, at his home. JL was born on July 11, 1943, in Quinton, Oklahoma the son of Jesse Luke and Grace Pearl (Prater) Moody. He graduated from Wewoka High School in 1961. He enlisted in the United States Army on February 25, 1964, in Seminole, Oklahoma. He received several awards while serving including the Expert Rifle Award, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged on February 12, 1966 in Oakland California. On January 13, 1968, JL married Jestella Dungan. They were happily married for fifty-one years. JL worked in auto part sales. Survivors include: his wife, Jestella, of the home; his son, Michael Landon Moody and wife Shelly, his granddaughters, Jordyn Moody and Ashley Moody; and his sisters, Ruby Dismuke, Eunice Mizell and husband Jim, and Wilma Moody and husband Brown Morris and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, William Jeffrey Moody and a sister, Gladys Donaldson.
