Jimmie Gale Montgomery, 81, of Eufaula, passed away peacefully at her home Friday, May 26, 2017, with her daughters by her side. Jimmie was born on July 4, 1935, in Eufaula, Oklahoma the daughter of Albert Lee and Erma Gail (Cowan) Grigsby. She attended school in Checotah. On December 4, 1953, Jimmie married Walter Harold "Diamond Jim" Montgomery. She worked several professions because she traveled with her husband on the pipeline, moving all over the United States. Her most important position was being a mother. Jimmie enjoyed many things including reading, dancing, spending time with her animals, antiquing, and estate sales. When her daughters were young, Jimmie enjoyed volunteering at the school whether it was sewing costumes for plays, going on band trips or working in the concession stand. She was an accomplished artist and loved working in the yard and collecting rocks. Survivors include her daughters, Jacklyn Hall of Eufaula and Matisha Montgomery and husband Timothy Lagan of Alexandria, Virginia and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Iris Ann Edwards and a brother, Jerry Frank Wood.
