Jimmie Burgess

Jimmie Lonzo Burgess, 79, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, March 23, 2020, at his home. Jimmie was born on April 10, 1940, in Hanna, Oklahoma, the son of James R. and Brie (Demassic) Burgess. He attended school in Hanna, Oklahoma. Jimmie enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1969. On May 22, 1963, Jimmie married Shirley Nima Jean Hill in McIntosh County. They were happily married fifty-six years. He attended the Big Arbor Baptist Church. Jimmie enjoyed fishing, hunting, garage sales and going to Wal Mart. He also enjoyed riding his scooter and playing his guitar and harmonica. His family includes: his son, Arnold Burgess of Eufaula and fiance Jennifer Graham, his daughter, Pam Burgess of Eufaula; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren and a family friend Edwina Basden. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley and a daughter, Tilena. Due to COVID19 virus the service will be a private family event.
