Jerry Lee Melton

Jerry Lee Melton, 79, of Eufaula, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the Eufaula Manor Nursing Home. Jerry was born on August 26, 1935, in Smithville, Oklahoma the son of Chester and Viola Sara (Samuels) Melton. He attended school at Pauls Valley. He served in the United States Army from February 22, 1954 and was honorably discharged on February 25, 1957. On June 4, 1974, Jerry married Anna Louise Newman. He worked as a paint contractor in the construction business. Jerry enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors include: his wife, Louise, of the home; his sons, David Melton and wife Lou Jean of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Devin Lee Melton and wife Stephanie of Alaska, stepsons, Tyree Jones and wife Barbara of Oklahoma City and Nicholas Espinosa of California; his daughters, Karen Jo Shaffer and husband Mark of Oklahoma City and Lisa Laxton of Eufaula. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and a step daughter, Rhonda Lynn Paton.
