Jerry Joe Bob Curtis, 78, of Stillwater, passed away on October 23, 2017 at his home. Jerry was born on June 26, 1939 in Hanna, Oklahoma to Marion Franklin and Lona Mae (Asher) Curtis. He graduated from Eufaula High School in 1958. Jerry enlisted in the United States Army on September 19, 1958 and was honorably discharged on September 18, 1961. He was married to Lori Boehm for almost twenty years. On March 7, 1981, Jerry married Carol J. Hamilton. They were happily married for over thirty-six years. He started as an unlocated lineman and then in management for Southwestern Bell, before retiring in 1991. While living in Muskogee, he was a member of the Elks Lodge # 517. Jerry and Carol moved from Muskogee to Oklahoma City, OK then to Pagosa Springs, Colorado. There Jerry worked as a volunteer on the Restoration of the Lower Blanco River. Jerry and Carol also lived in Fredericksburg, Texas before moving back to Stillwater, Oklahoma. He loved fishing, camping, and spending time with family. Jerry and Carol were avid carnival glass collectors. Survivors include: his wife, Carol, of the home; daughter, Lorraine Curtis Hellman and husband, Geary, of Canby, Oregon; Christy Curtis, of Oxford, Mississippi; step daughter, Tonya Farris and husband, Bryan, of Stillwater, OK; step son, Trent Hawkins and wife, Beth, of Stillwater, OK; nine grandchildren: Shelby, Brianna, Dalton, Kelsey, Cameron, Cory, Randy, Adrien, and Mackenzie; eleven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Lona Mae Curtis; brothers: Garland Curtis, Lee Roy Curtis, Don Curtis, John Curtis, and Fred Curtis; and one sister, Maurine Sofia.
