Jerry Edward Basden

Jerry Edward Basden, 84, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away on October 15, 2022 at the Wagoner Nursing Home. Jerry was born on May 10, 1938 in Quinton, Oklahoma to William F. and Anna (Brown) Basden. He graduated from Quinton High School in 1957. Jerry received his Associate's Degree from Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton. He worked for the FAA as a medical certification manager for over thirty years, before retiring in 1995. On May 3, 2008, Jerry married Linda Sue Hannah at the Southeast Baptist Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma. They were happily married for fourteen years. He enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, and dancing. Jerry also loved walking, telling stories, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandkids. He was a member of the Southeast Baptist Church in Muskogee.

Survivors include: his wife, Linda Sue Basden, of the home; daughter, Melinda Russell and husband Jerry, of Norman; two grandchildren: Bethany Sipe and Allison Russell; and two great grandchildren: Gerald and Fenix Sipe. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna Basden; and siblings: Ernest Basden Frank Basden, Robert Basden, Jack Basden, Sam Basden, Kin Basden, Pauline Boone, Mildred Borden, Patsy Butler, Nita Basden, and Alma Jean Basden.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at the Kelley Memorial Chapel, Hunn Black & Merritt Funeral Home with Reverend John Basden officiating. Cremation arrangements were made with Hunn Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Jerry's honor.
