Jerry Dean Holly, 85, passed away on February 3, 2015 with his family by his side at his home in Eufaula, OK. Jerry Holly, son of Henry Elbert and Thelma Holly, was born on May 7, 1929 in Wichita Falls, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Ron Holly. Jerry is survived by Beverly Holly, his loving wife of 64 years, sister, Carol Webb of Wichita Falls, TX, son Gary Holly and wife Ann, of Vernon, TX, daughter Jeri McGee and Lynn Hasselbring of Olathe, KS, and youngest daughter, Lisa Chapin and husband Scott of Parkville, MO; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and beloved schnauzer Bella, a gift from his children on their 6oth wedding anniversary. Jerry"s greatest joy in life was his family, whom he loved dearly. Jerry had a distinguished career with Phillips Petroleum Co. for 35 years, from his early years in Borger, TX to his days in Guymon OK where he worked in the Measuring Department. Jerry"s lifelong hobby was customizing and riding motorcycles. He won several trophies for his bikes and Beverly and Jerry often took long cycle tours together where they made many friends along the way. Jerry was also known for his custom Christmas decorations. He designed a working mechanical ferris wheel, a woodie car, a rocking Santa Claus and all kinds of other wonderful decorations for the enjoyment of the community. He took early retirement at 56 and in 1993 he moved to the Lake Eufaula area where he turned his interests to square dancing, golf, boating, fishing and enjoying the lake area with his friends and family. For many years he and Beverly became winter "Texans" and enjoyed the warmer climate of the South Texas area. He was a member of the Jaycee"s in Guymon, OK and was always a part of various fundraising efforts for this community where he lived for 31 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eufaula, OK and also served on the board of his home association. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice or the First Baptist Church Building Fund, Eufaula, OK.
