In 1981, he began working as a machinist for DP Manufacturing in Eufaula and retired from there after 35 years. After attending his best friend’s daughter’s birthday party (later his stepson and granddaughter) and being encouraged by his other future stepson, Jerry married the love of his life, Diane Shannon, on August 26, 2006. They were happily married for almost 9 years. Together, they enjoyed the grandchildren and trips with her sisters and children. Jerry was an avid sports fan. You could find him watching football, baseball, golf, and softball, and watching his favorite race car driver #5 Larson. He loved eating two pieces of fried catfish on Fridays.
