J.B. Rankin

J.B. was born on January 10, 1928 in Bauxite, Arkansas to Ruben Nuten and Eunice Janice (Lane) Rankin. On April 18, 1946, he enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on September 24, 1947.While in the service, J.B. received the World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupational Medal-Japan. On March 5, 1949, he married Susie Lee Tatum in Saline County Court House, Arkansas. J.B. worked at Southwest Steel Mill and Arkansas State Highway. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. He was also a member of the New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Benton, Arkansas. Survivors include: his wife, Susie, of the home; one son, Dennis Rankin and wife, Iris; one daughter, Beverley Neal and husband, Ronnie Joe; two sisters, Doris Coudell Jones; Barbara Janice Henry; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Eunice Rankin; one daughter, Jammie Sue Rankin; one brother, and Ruben Cecil Rankin.
