Jauretta Maurice Carl

Jauretta Maurice Shelton Carl was born on October 21, 1937 to E.L. (Jack) and Erma Maye Anderson Shelton in her Granddaddy and Granny Shelton"s home southwest of Comanche, Oklahoma. At the age of 11, she was saved in the First Baptist Church in Comanche. Jauretta went to a rural school southwest of Comanche, through third grade. The family then moved to Comanche, where she attended school from fourth through seventh grade. Her dad started working in the oil fields and through eighth grade to graduation she attended several schools. She graduated from Pauls Valley High School in 1955. Frank Carl and Jauretta Shelton were married on January 17, 1957 in the First Baptist Church in Maysville, Oklahoma. Of this union, one daughter, Coby Maurice was born. Jauretta was a stay at home wife and mother for ten years until Frank enrolled in college. She then worked at the Madill Slacks Factory, The First National Bank in Stillwater, was a teacher"s aide in Clayton, The Okeene Record, and The Arkla Gas Company in Okeene for eighteen years until it closed. Jauretta was a lifetime member of The Oklahoma Native Plant Society. For several years she and Frank had a butterfly garden, they gave many programs over the state on butterflies, flowers, and birds. She was also a lifetime member of FLOK in Okeene, Oklahoma. She loved animals and had many pets through the years. She especially enjoyed having morning coffee with the girls. She loved her family more than words could say. Survivors include: her husband of 59 years, Frank; daughter, Coby Maurice and husband, Joseph Tynsky; granddaughter, Brooke Maurice and husband, Ray Clark; great grandson, Levi Franklin Posey; step grandchildren: Cody, Ashley, and Paul Clark; brother in-law, Keith Carl and wife, Lauren; one nephew; three nieces; and several cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; parents in-law; and one sister in-law.
