Janet Marie Nixon

Janet was born on March 18, 1942 in Stidham, Oklahoma to Leo Ray and Neta Odessa (Moore) Nixon. She attended first grade through her junior year at Stidham Public School, then went to Reed High School, where she graduated her senior year from. Janet also attended IBM School. In August 1962, Janet married Robert Gene Rooks, who preceded her in death in 1975. In 1975, she was married to John Fowler, Sr. for nine years. Janet was a former member of the Jehovah’s Witness Hall Church in Checotah, Oklahoma. Survivors include: three sons, John Fowler, Jr. and wife, Julie, of Wainwright, OK; Mike Rooks and wife, Debbie, of Muskogee, OK; Steve Rooks, of Helena, OK; two daughters, Katrena Horton and husband, Mack, of Stidham, OK; Neta Horton and Tony Newton, of Eufaula, OK; three brothers, Jim Nixon and wife, Phyllis; Freddie Nixon and wife, Mary, both of Eufaula, OK; Ed Nixon, of Stidham, OK; one sister, Ann Wilson, of Stidham, OK; twenty-two grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Neta Nixon; her husband, Robert Gene Rooks; and one brother, Kenneth Ray Nixon.
