Janet Gail Bumgarner

Janet Gail Bumgarner, 63, of Eufaula, passed away on May 15, 2017 at her home. Janet was born on October 21st, 1953 to James Morton "Buddy" and Ruth Lafaye (Hanning) Bumgarner. She graduated from Eufaula High School in 1973 and attended Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton. Janet was a lifetime resident of Eufaula. She served as City Council Member for twelve years. Janet worked for McIntosh County District # 2 and at the Creek Nation Casino. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Eufaula, Oklahoma. Survivors include: three brothers: Hershel Bumgarner, Johnny Bumgarner, and Bill Bumgarner; and two sisters: Brenda Bumgarner and Susie Bumgarner Long; all of Eufaula, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Ruth Bumgarner; three sisters: Linda Brown, Shirley Sparks, and Bonnie Peloquin; and three brothers: James E. "Sonny" Bumgarner, Gene Bumgarner, and Ray Bumgarner. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 19, 2017 at the United Pentecostal Church in Eufaula, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hunn Black & Merritt Funeral Home.
