Janet Darlene Butler

Janet Darlene Butler, 64, of Checotah, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024, at her home. Janet was born on August 17, 1959, in Eufaula, Oklahoma the daughter of Grover and Phyllis (Shackelford) Burns. Janet graduated from Eufaula High School in the class of 1977. She worked as an office manager for a Refractory Business. In May 1979, Janet married James Butler. They were happily married for forty-three years before he preceded her in death on January 24, 2022. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards & Yahtzee. Janet also loved gospel and blue grass music and sitting in her recliner with her dog, Sir Oliver Butler "Ollie". Her favorite and most important job was being a mother and grandmother.

Survivors include sons: Travis Butler of Bartow, Florida and Bryan Butler and wife Heather, of Checotah, Oklahoma; grandson Brayden Hall; and special cousin that was more like a brother, David Shackelford and wife Brenda, of Stidham, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her husband James Butler; son, James Burns, mother Phyllis Bedford, dad Grover Burns and daddy Art Triplett.
