Helen Janice "Jan" Long, 83, formerly of Eufaula, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022. Jan was born on May 19, 1939, in Lakin, Kansas, the daughter of Elmer Jacob and Lydia (Grauberger) Bisterfelt. She graduated from Lakin High School in 1957. She married Duane Sauer in New Mexico. He preceded her in death in 1960. She later married Ray Chappell in 1963. They divorced in 1974. On March 15, 1986, Jan married Hollis "Wayne" Long in Athens, Texas. They were happily married for sixteen years. Jan worked in computer processing in banking for twenty-seven years. She worked with the Girl Scouts and was a Sunday School teacher. She and Wayne moved to the lake in October 1993. She was a member of FLEAS and God's Helping Hands. Jan enjoyed gardening, working in her flowerbeds, sewing and playing on her computer. Survivors include: her daughters, Shelly Mae Lutz and husband Mike of Blanchard, Sheri Danell Silver and husband Rob of Oklahoma City and step daughter, Sonya Kay Smith of Nevada, Texas; grandchildren, Laura Shoopman and husband Patrick, Kelli Silver, Hannah Silver, Jera Mason and husband Tyler, Reece Pfenninger and wife Jessica, Lindsey Smith and Leslie Smith; great grandchildren, Emily Shoopman, Caleb Shoopman, Emmalie Pfenninger, Bennett Mason, Ellis Mason and Case Mason. She is preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Lydia Bisterfelt; husband, Duane Sauer; son, Stanley Sauer; her husband, Wayne Long, and sister, Dorothy Amman.
