James Ross Keene

James Ross Keene, 75, of Eufaula, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2012 at his home. James was born on March 19, 1936 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Everett Hula and Louise Nola (Hayden) Keene. He enlisted in the United States Navy on March 4, 1954 in Little Rock, Arkansas, serving three years during the Korean War. James was honorably discharged on March 14, 1957 in Long Beach, California. On October 7, 1961, he married Laura Gray in Sherrill, Arkansas. James worked for over fifty years as a Law Enforcement Officer. He was a member of the Shriner’s and Scottish Rights. James attended church at the Eufaula United Methodist Church. Survivors include: his wife, Laura, of the home; one son, Michael Keene and wife, Stefani, of Austin, TX; one daughter, Melody Keene Stewart and husband, Gene, of Eufaula, OK; and four grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Everett Keene and Louise Jones.
