James "Kent" Callahan

James "Kent" Callahan, born September 27th, 1935, passed away peacefully at his home, July 20, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Sue Moon Callahan. Survivors include: 3 children, Cathy Swanson, Ryan Callahan, and Amanda Callahan; 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Kent practiced dentistry for 40 years in Henryetta, Okemah, and Oklahoma City before retiring to Lake Eufaula in 2002. One of his proudest accomplishments was breeding and raising the colt, Shazoom, who not only was a great race horse, but also a proven sire. His bloodline continues to impact horse racing today. Kent was a member of North Fork Baptist Church in Eufaula. He will be greatly missed but is with Jesus now, his greatest reward.
