Jackie Edward Turpin, 77, of Checotah, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2020, at his home. He was born on May 7, 1943, in Porum, Oklahoma, the son of James Corbin and Marcillene Margaret (Henderson) Turpin. He attended Checotah Public Schools and Horace Mann Jr. High School. He entered the United States Air Force and served from May 1960 to August 1968. On February 15, 1967, Jackie married Connie Jean. He worked as a plane inspector for Cessna and retired in 2005. Jackie was an outdoor man who enjoyed fishing, hunting deer and duck and golfing. He won trophies in ballroom dancing. Jackie was a member of the Texanna Assembly of God Church. Jack was a member of the old farts coffee drinkers that met every morning at 6 a.m. at Terry's Sinclair and he will be missed by us all. He was a good friend. Survivors include: his son, Robert Edward Turpin and wife Crystal of Tulsa; his daughters, Kimberly Mae Spradling of Grove and Pamela Jean Laney and husband John of Rocky Comfort, MO; his brothers, David Turpin and wife Loretta of Porum, Bill Keith Dover and wife Marie of Oregon, Kermit Dover and wife Roz of Porum and Kenny Dover of Porum; his sisters, Sybol Hagan and husband Tom of Porum; his grandchildren, Megan, Marcilene, Renee, Joshua, Jaret, Trey and James; his great grandchildren, Kaden, Ryitt, Maddox, Myles, Mason and Marlee. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Edward Turpin and Marcillene Margaret Dover; his brothers, Leroy Turpin, Daniel Turpin, and Riley Turpin and a sister, Allene Nickolson. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
