Jack Stidham

December 20, 1931 — March 28, 2012

Jack Lee Stidham, 80, of Eufaula, stepped into the portal of glory to forever be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 28, 2012. Jack was born on December 20, 1931 in Chandler, Oklahoma to Emmett Lee and Margie Leota (Taylor) Stidham. He attended school at Chandler High School in Chandler, Oklahoma. Jack enlisted in the United States Army in July 1952 and served in Korea, where he was wounded. He was later honorably discharged. He worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service before retiring in 1991. On September 2, 1995, Jack married Louise Camp in Chandler, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Evangel Outreach Church on Texanna Road. Jack was also a former member of the First Assembly of God Church in Eufaula, Oklahoma. He enjoyed fishing, watching westerns, and listening to good music. Jack was surrounded and attended by the family who truly loved him especially after the loss of both legs. He was a courageous man that refused to quit in spite of all odds. Jack had a growl like a bear but a heart of a teddy bear. Survivors include: Louise, of the home, his faithful wife and caregiver for sixteen years; one son, Brad Stidham and wife, Tammy, of Eufaula, OK; two daughters, Anita Betting, of Denver, CO; Shirley Jacobs, of Edmond, OK; one brother, M.K. Stidham and wife, Nancy, of Chandler, OK; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a host of faithful friends, who loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Margie Stidham; his previous wife, Laura Stidham; and one sister, Delores Imogene Williams.
