Isaac William Downum, 79, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by his family and loved ones. Isaac was born on April 2, 1945, in Eufaula, Oklahoma to Henry Orville and Nancy Sue (Gray) Downum. He attended school in Eufaula. As well as receiving a degree from OSU Okmulgee. Isaac worked as a Diesel Engine Builder and Truck Driver all his life. He had great faith in the Lord and was baptized.
He married the love of his life Ruth Ann Murry on November 22,1963 at the First Christian Church in Eufaula, OK. They were happily married for sixty-one years. They have 3 beautiful children. He loved his family and loved to attend any sporting event that his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was participating in whether it be Baseball, Football, Soccer, Rodeo and Dance recitals. He had a great love for the outdoors Hunting, Fishing, Golfing, Nascar. Having his family together often grilling, laughing telling old stories made him the happiest. He also loved traveling to visit family, friends and going to the beaches of Galveston, Gulf Shores, California and Mexico, as they went on many cruises where they met no strangers as they made many friends wherever they went. Isaac was fun, he loved his country music.
Survivors include: his sons, Michael William Downum Sr (Pam) of Owasso and Charles Lee Downum (Ellen) of Tulsa. His grandchildren, Michael Downum Jr of Claremore, Christopher Maxey (Leslie) of Broken Arrow, Clayton Downum (Emily) of Fort Gibson, Austin Downum (Brittnie) of Tulsa, Cayleigh Downum (Dillon) of Talala, his great grandchildren; Addelynne Downum, Walter Maxey, Amelia Maxey, Paislee Downum, Jaydden Downum & Kyle Downum. brothers: Andrew Downum, of Broken Arrow, Jerry Downum (Lisa), of Muskogee; and sister, Elaine Turner, of Muskogee. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Nancy Downum and daughter, Tina Maye Downum and brothers: infant brother Henry Orville Downum, Jr., Ronald Gene Downum, Derrell Dean Downum.
He will be missed greatly by everyone!
