Helen Faye Bartlett

Helen is survived by her four daughters: Linda Dunn of Edmond, OK; Brinda Brown of Enid, OK; Trisha Johnson (Frank) of Enid, OK; and D.J. Thompson (Patrick) of Fort Gibson, OK and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lindy Bartlett, as well as by her only sister Bethe Rainbolt. Helen was born in Altus, OK and spent most of her childhood in Mineral Wells and Wink, TX then later moved to Hollis, OK as a teenager. She was the youngest of two girls born to William and Ella (Fortenberry) Mann. Helen graduated from Hollis High School in 1947 at the age of 16 and soon after met the love of her life, Howard "Lindy" Bartlett. The couple was married January 25, 1948 in Hobart, OK. Helen and Lindy began their life together in Hollis, OK where their first two children, Linda and Brinda, were born. In 1950 the family moved to Oklahoma City where soon after they had their third daughter – Trisha, and also started – "Bartlett Plumbing Co." Helen helped with the business from time to time by keeping books or stepping in as the receptionist. The couple had their fourth daughter – D.J. - in 1970. In 1969 Lindy and Helen purchased waterfront property at Lake Eufaula in eastern Oklahoma where many family vacations and weekends filled with boating, skiing, fishing and parties were enjoyed for over 25 years. Helen loved to fish and entertain large groups of friends and family with fish fries and her amazing cooking. In 1995 the couple achieved their dream of retiring to their home there and made the location their permanent and primary residence. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider a donation to the Alzheimer"s Association.
